Exploded View of
Slave Cylinder
Here is an exploded view of a Slave
Cylinder. You've got (from left to right) the piston shaft, the
dust boot (above shaft), the piston, a rubber seal (above piston),
a spring, and the main housing (cylinder). If you have one that
goes bad its almost best to just go buy a new one. You can repair
them if you want, but you'll have to buy a cylinder hone and a
rebuild kit. That'll cost you more than it would for a new one,
but it might be a good experience. My cylinder wall had a huge
scratch in it and I just decided to make life easy on myself when
I reaplaced it. Don't overtighten the bleeder plugs...I busted
one on my clutch damper (woops!!!)...luckily it is sealed when
the bleeder plug is down that far. So long.
